John Gerhardt for The Coveteur

John_Gerhardt-01-full

I'm sure I'm not the only guy obsessing over how drool worthy John Gerhardt's wardrobe is. The creative director for Holt Renfrew has an incredible collection of sweaters ranging from Marni, Margiela, and Jill Sander to Dries Van Noten, Prada and Comme Des Garcon blazers. I'm currently obsessed with shoes like I have never been and seeing Gerhardt's vast collection of desert boots makes me want to start my own collection. I really need to invest in belts too, they're such an abused and often forgot about accessory for men.

Women's Milan Fashion Week Favs Spring 2011 Part THREE

robertcavff2robertocavff1

Roberto Cavalli // The animal print/gypsy-esque vibe from Cavalli's Fall 2011 collection was very dark, but sexy. Like Gucci, I also got a rock and roll feel in this collection, but loved the velvet, play with fur and those scarfs (which I'm sure Kate Moss will be snagging!). Those patent loafer heels were also amazeballs. what do you think?

jilsanderff1 jillsanderff2

Jill Sander // Following an amazing and probably one of my fav Spring 2011 collections, Jill Sander continued to bring in the colors with bold yellows, reds, and blues. Much of the collection emphasized volume, mens wear, turtle necks, thick knits, and sorry but could I just say how beautifully chic that yellow number is?! Undeniably stunning. It's really all about shapeless dresses/shifts next fall. LOVE IT.

empucciff1 empucciff2 empucciff3 empucciff4

Emilio Pucci // If I could be any designer girl, I'd be a hybrid of Lanvin, Gucci, and Emlio Pucci. Effortless, Power, and Sexy. You can never go wrong with a piece from Emilio Pucci, which is why I decided to include more photos of this collection. I loved the printed sheer tops, the double breasted coats, the blue and red audrey pants, the pointy heels, the laced up heels, that embellished long sleeved mini, the printed mini and floor length numbers, and the emerald dresses that walked the finale. The collection literally had me on a fashion high, and I felt like I didn't want the show to end!! No wonder Pucci is a fav for sexy celebs like Zoe Saldana, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Fergie, and Olivia Wilde. Def one of my top 5 collections in Milan.

Women's Milan Fashion Week Favs Fall 2011 PART TWO

etroff2 etroff1

Etro // I love marveling at all the Etro at work, because it's so rare for me to see Etro pieces anywhere, plus I don't see a lot of women flaunting Etro. ESPECIALLY in Santa Barbara. The pattern loving fashion house, went with a subtle yet very Etro approach in this fall collection. I adored practically all the pieces, especially the leather jacket with sherling collar, the wool coat Anna was sporting on the runway with the black sherling(?) sleeves, and those shiny metallic looking printed dresses were absolutely astonishing. Can't you see Kate Bosworth in that turquoise number?! Faboosh.

gianfranc1 gianfranc2

Gianfranco Ferre // Pointy heels, double breasted suits, pops of jeweled tone coats/dresses, and turtle necks were apparent in Gianfranco's fall collection, which continues all those trends from previous shows. Given how simple the collection was, the clothes were well made and well tailored I might add. Damn, I want me a double breasted suit now!!

versaceff1 versaceff2

Versace // Versace is such an iconic brand that to me only women who have extreme confidence can really pull off any piece from the design house (like January Jones, who proved to be a fav for Donatella). Versace is always so sexy, so I was surprised to see how toned down the sex appeal was in this fall collection. I got more of a power chic than sex vibe from this collection. Nonetheless, I loved the military-esque coats in fur, the gorgeous finale dresses at the end, and those shoes literally gave me a heart attack! It's practically sex in a shoe!! I died.

From Angels to Super Models

Women's Milan Fashion Week Favs Fall 2011 PART ONE

gucciff11 gucciff2

Gucci // Frida sent out an amazing collection down the runway, which showcased a lot of 70's sophistication and play on fur, mens wear, polka dots, jeweled tone dresses, which kind of reminded me of Marc's spring 2011 collection with all the high slits and complex bows, but I loved it all. It was all very chic and all very Gucci, which felt very rock and roll chic. How fierce is that black fur number with the black hat? Abbey's yellow number should instantly be a contendor for any women's MET Gala uniform. Def a fav collection of mine from Milan, agree?

albertfff1 albertfff2

Alberta Ferretti // The structured pieces in this collection were phenomenal from the first to the last outfit that paraded down Ferretti's Fall 2011 collection. How stunning would Julianne Moore look in that navy blue one long sleeved shoulder dress? Or Anna Wintour in that embellished orange and grey coat?! I also thought the suede knee high boots were screaming Carine! Great collection overall.

maxmaraf1 maxmaraf2

Max Mara // Although this collection was very muted and minimal (kind of like Calvin Klein), I enjoyed the long sleeved shifts, the coats with the seat belt looking clasps, and the camel coat had me drooling. I also thought that long length coat was impeccable, you don't really see those anymore. My friend Danny asked me about my opinion on pointy toe heels and in this collection, they were absolutely stunning. So chic and so simple. It brought me back to those old days with Donna Karen.

dgff1 dgff2

D&G // I never saw this collection coming, as I'm sure everyone else was. But given how loud and obnoxious the collection was, it was still very D&G and definitely was different from all the other collections we've been seeing in Milan. It was vibrant and fun, and I quite enjoyed the alphabet scheme of the collection, besides D&G is meant to be fun and youthful and that's what I got out of the collection despite those horrible horrible sneaker wedges. I definitely enjoyed those neon colored boyfriend blazers, which reminded me of Marc's Fall 2009 collection. It definitely took me a while to warm up to Dominico and Stefano's collection, but given the right girl, the pieces would definitely speak for themselves. Nylon/Teen Vogue I'm sure, will be all over this collection.

pradaff1 pradaff2

Prada // Even though I'm still going cray cray over Miuccia's spring 2011 collection for Prada, I thought she did a splendid job for the fashion house's fall 2011 collection. I got to see a lot more of those fish scale inspired cut outs, and I adored how mod/twiggy/schoolgirl, and 70's inspired everything was from the coat dresses to the clutch bags. And is it me or is Arizona Muse's coat EFFING GORG/TO DIE FOR?! Leather/Reptile skin/Fur?!! I'm sure it'll be the it coat of the season! Surprisingly enough, I saw both fur and reptile combinations a lot in the Milan shows like Gucci... Love it.
