Crystal Renn for Vogue Paris

It's obvious the fashion world, particularly Paris, adores Crystal Renn. I've seen her in probably FIVE editorials for Vogue Paris alone, but I'm glad the "plus size" model is getting her lime light. She's definitely different looking and is it me or does it seem like her cheeks are sunk in...kind of like death? Hmmm well i'm not complaining, if it works for Uncle Karl, it works pour moi. Overall, I'm digging this plastic surgery spook/cougar with nothing but Tom Ford women's wear. Like I said, Carine always gets it right. For more, click here.

Abbey Lee Kershaw, Crystal Renn & Eniko Mihalik by Terry Richardson for Vogue Paris

Carine always gets it right. I love this spread for Vogue Paris with Abbey, Crystal and Eniko. I wonder how the issue will turn out with Tom Ford as a guest editor, I'm sure it's filled with all TF fabulousness. For more click here.

The power of saying "I'm proud of you"

I forgot where I learned this, but one of the most influential things you can say to someone is "I'm proud of you." For me, hearing it from your family is a big deal because it signifies how significant people in your life acknowledge your hard work and in a way tells you that they accept you. I work my ass off to be the very best I can be and push my self as if there's no limits so every time I hear this it makes me feel like I'm doing something right. Do you get the same feeling when you hear this?

Anyways, what made me want to write this in my blog was when I posted a status on my FB saying that I had assisted Katy Perry & her hubby, Russell Brand at work. My oldest cousin, Angelo sent this message to me shortly after posting my status:

cousin, i'm so proud of you. you are so very driven and believe me, it amazes us all. you are so freakin talented that i know that you are destined to be doin thangs that we aint seen in our family yet. for sureski. so with all that aside, i need you to style me up for my wedding next year between thanksgiving and christmas, we just haven't set a date yet. but i want to put you in charge. and i'ma let you. do you. you feel me? oh. baby. love you. remember cuz that we are so very proud of you especially beng cuz i know how close you two are. keep driving, who knows where the fuck you'll wind up!!!

It's always great to hear someone commending and recognizing your hard work, because a majority of the time it goes unnoticed. I hope everyone experiences something similar in their life, because hard work never goes unrecognized; especially with your family & friends.

PS. Congrats to my amazing cousin Angelo & Tenise!!

Jessica Stam for Vogue Russia December 2010

I was starting to think that Jessica Stam was going more commercial with projects including Aldos and Rachel Roy, but I'm glad to see her still sticking to what she does best, HIGH FASHION. I love this sexy spread of her in Vogue Russia and I love the lighting effects to the photos. I think that orange Versace dress on her is hot hot hot. What do you think?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my awesome readers! I wish you and your family a fun and safe Thanksgiving. Although I was home for less than 72 hours, I was able to see both my family and friends and I could not have asked for a better Thanksgiving. It was my first time being home after 2 1/2 months of staying in Santa Barbara, so it felt great to be back home, not to mention have a home cooked meal!! Now I am back in Santa Barbara in order to work tomorrow's Black Friday at Saks. I hope it's not murderous tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Karlie Kloss for Vogue India

How stunning is this editorial with Karlie Kloss for Vogue India?! Love the colors, the couture, and the concept. Go India!

Paolo Roldan

I was a bit curious as to who the asian model was walking down the runway at Givenchy's mens collection and now I have my answer. It's Paolo Roldan, a 25 year-old Filipino model! I would have never guessed he was filipino, but I love how he's huge with the Givenchy family. Here's an excerpt from his interview with NY:

Tell us a bit about your childhood.
I was born in Quelon City in the Philippines and lived there until I was about 9. I still have vivid memories about growing up there. It was different from a North American way of living. We spent most of the year in Quelon City, where I went to school at Ateneo De Manila. Academically, I did well, but somehow I felt like I didn't fit in for the most part. When school ended, my parents would send my brother and me to our grandparents' farm in the provinces. We would help to plow the fields and take care of the animals. My grandfather also had fighting cocks. My brother and I would go on Stand by Me–like adventures — minus the corpse.

How did you get discovered?
I was discovered in New York while on a business trip. It was David Bossman at Boss Models who came up and introduced himself to me. [He] asked if I had any time to do some test shots. We made arrangements to shoot that same day after all my appointments were done.

You're a favorite at the house of Givenchy. How did that relationship begin?
I wouldn't necessarily peg myself as a favorite, but I definitely have a great relationship with the "Givenchy family." It's really a strong family-type vibe with them. Our relationship began at a New York casting for the Givenchy fall 2010 show. It was my last day in New York, and I received a call from my agent. I dashed over to the agency to get my book and proceeded to the casting. To make a long story short, I met the infamous Riccardo Tisci at that casting. Since then, I've done a few editorials, three shows, and a campaign for the house of Givenchy. I'm thankful for the opportunity!

Tell us something we don't know about you.
I think I have nine lives! I've had so many close calls since I was a kid. I've probably gone through four of them by now.

What's your diet like? Is it hard to maintain that physique?
My diet for the past two years consists of a lot of chicken breasts, grilled steaks, greens, tuna, sweet potatoes, and beans. At the peak of it, I was working out five to six times a week. It's not that hard once you get into the routine of it. It becomes quite an addiction (in the best way!).

On your off days, what do you enjoy doing?
I try to get together with my family or my girlfriend's family. We try to go as often as we can for the good company and home-cooked meals. When I'm not doing that, you'd probably find me at some random gym with my boys. I also have a passion for cooking, and sketching clothes.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
Ideally, I would love to have my own clothing line/business. My interest would be to hold down the creative side of things in that situation. Also, next year I will be a face of the new Zipped Man fragrance from Perfumer's Workshop launching spring 2011.

Favorite thing about being a model?
Traveling and making new friends along the way. Oh, and getting random gifts from everyone I work for.

Worst thing about being a model?
Knowing what's coming out and getting to try on the clothes before the public gets to see them. I'm a fashion junkie ... I get too attached to the clothes!

First day at Saks 5th.

I forgot how much I disliked training, especially when you have to do it on a computer. Although I was on the computer the whole day today and will probably be on it until Sunday, it was not so bad. I officially got my associates number and my Saks pin! While I was getting my business casual outfit ready for today's training, I thought about how much my closet lacked suits! I am in desperate need of a black, navy, grey, grey wool, and khaki suit! Suits are so dang expensive, hopefully I can find some good ones at TopMan or Zara. God know's I can't afford our Dolce & Gabbana or Armani. Overall, my first day went well and I am excited to continue working there.

On a side note, I'm not too sure if I can still go home for Thanksgiving since I will have to work. My HR manager said they don't recommend that employees go on vacation during this time, so hopefully my supervisor will say otherwise. *cross your fingers.

Minus the little - Red Riding Hood

I didn't know they were remaking this movie! I like the new twist and seems like it could be promising. Looks like Amanda Seyfriend plays the lead very well too. I'm excited, are you? On a side note, Check out James Franco's new movie Your Highness, with Natalie Portman and Zooey Deschanel, which looks HILLLLLLLLLLLARIOUS.

My Angels.

I cannot wait for November 30th! I'm so excited to see my favorite fashion show in the entire world, after all who wouldn't want to see the world's sexiest super models walk down in lingerie? Behati, Adriana, Alessandra, Jessica, Anja, Magdalena, Selita, Candice, Isabel, and Rosie OH MYYYY!!

Spring 2011 H&M

I see a lot of army green this season and next season. Am I upset? HELL NO, I love love love this color green and I think it's such a classic. I still need me some green cargo skinnies!! I also want a thick military baggy button up if that exists as well as an army green parka. What do you think about that jumpsuit? LOL I don't think I could pull that off, but I love that jacket.

Confessions of my BB.

The Little Glee-sters

How adorable is little Mercedes?!

PS. Glee's Christmas album is amazing! Click here to download.

Tom Ford Debuts Womens Wear

Tom Ford is officially back with womens wear! How fab does this sneak peak of his women's ready to wear look?! It seems like Tom always has sex, glamour, and sophistication on his mind when he designs and I absolutely adore the end results. After running fashion houses like Gucci and YSL, I am so glad he is finally on his own and designing for both men and women. It was only a matter of time..

Adele; 21

She's back and I'm effing excited. Adele's first single, Rolling In The Deep is off her sophomore album titled, 21 and I can't wait to hear what else she has in store. I hope I get to see her live again, she has an amazing voice. Love love love.

Saks Fifth Avenue

I was officially offered a part time sales associate position for women's ready to wear, accessories, and mens yesterday. I am so excited to work at such a prestigious department store and such an exclusive one at that. I think this is definitely a step in the right direction in terms of my professional career. I told myself that if I EVER did retail again, it would be with the big dogs, and though it's not Bergdorfs, I'm pretty damn close even though our Santa Barbara store is quite smaller than other Sak stores. My interview went very well and without a hitch, I was very comfortable and engaged in my interviews which I think really helped me. Besides, who knows me better than myself?

Anyways, I look forward to working, learning, and selling. Finally a position with commission and discount on clothes, accessories, and shoes! I really hope this job helps me to save and with paid holidays like Christmas and New Years, I am excited to not work, but get paid! Although I'm quite sad that I won't be able to drive down to LA for the Lanvin H&M launch, I figured it would just save up for an actual Lanvin suit and trench, so I guess it works out. I'm super excited to shop for Christmas gifts as well. Having a Chanel store in the middle of your department doesn't make things easier, so let's hope I don't end up shopping for myself this season.

Harvey Haydon

I'm not really looking for a great bag this season like this editorial was intended for, I'm more so looking for great trousers, knits, and shoes. I'm lacking some shoe options, and now that I work at Saks I hope to find great ones, particularly some brown wingtips, desert boots, duck boots, and another pair of black wingtips. I would hate to wear my YSL's all the time for events and for work, so I need to get on the shoe search stat. Love the styling in this shoot though, don't you?

Got this cute little email from my friend Sophia, thought I would share...

None of that Sissy Shit
Are you tired of those sissy 'friendship' poems that always sound good, but never actually come close to reality?

Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship.

You will see no cute little smiley faces on this ~ Just the stone cold truth of our great friendship.

1.When you are sad ~ I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you sad.

2. When you are blue ~ I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.

3. When you smile ~ I will know you are thinking of something that I would probably want to be involved in.

4. When you are scared ~ I will rag on you about it every chance I get until you're NOT.

5. When you are worried ~ I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining.

6. When you are confused ~ I will try to use only little words.

7. When you are sick ~ Stay the hell away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.

8. When you fall ~I will laugh at your clumsy ass, but I'll help you up.

9. This is my oath .... I pledge it to the end. 'Why?' you may ask ~ because you are my friend.

10. Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, but only youcan feel the true warmth.

Olivia Wild for Vanity Fair

Move over Megan Fox, looks like we have much more talented hottie in town. With Olivia Wild starring in Disney's Tron this December, I'm sure she'll be blowing up everywhere and it's only fair that Maxim named her number one amongst hotties including Fox, Halle Berry, Jessica Alba, and more. I remember seeing Wild play Marissa Cooper's lesbian lover in the OC years ago, but I'm glad to see she's back and doing films other than her gig with House. She looks absolutely fab in this editorial with Vanity Fair. Glamourous yet sexy, just how I like her.
