Stamp House by Charles Wright Architects

stamp-house-04
Is it me or this a house you'd see in a video game like Halo? Either way, I think it's absolutely stunning. While the shape easily resembles that of a spaceship of some sort, I love how futuristic and modern it looks. It's even more beautiful at night when it's all lit up. The walkway along the water is incredible. The Queensland, Australia based design is made of both in-situ and precast concrete, which has been "engineered & insulated incorporating a total solar panelled roof to provide for a constant cooler & more comfortable ambient temperature year-round. The design utilises massive cantilevers to mitigate impact from potential flooding & king tide inundation associated with cyclonic activity. The project is category 5 cyclone proof and therefore classed as a cyclone shelter." If I lived off the Australian rainforest, I would love to have something like this. Both carbon neutral and eco-friendly. Two thumbs up.

Home: Athena Calderone

If I could have anyone's Brooklyn based home, it would probably be Interior Designer's, Athena Calderones'. I love how she mixes different elements and textures. I really like the industrial feel of her cement blocked walls accented with soft velvet furniture. While her space is more modern, I love the dash of country from the wood decal to her floral arrangements. I also think that in some sense her home is more so simple, but still eclectic and true to her personality.

"Never follow any rules! I am all about mixing and contrasting elements. I think a room should never strike just one note. I love combining polarizing qualities and using elements that seem like they shouldn’t work, but do. I think it creates a tension that brings intrigue and curiosity to a space. So, a clean environment with eclectic oddities, luxurious textures next to raw ones, old pieces with new ones, that’s what gives a room character and depth."

Aymeline Valade for Vogue Spain

Aymeline-Valade-Miguel-Reveriego-Vogue-Spain-02
With spring in full mode and summer quickly approaching, I'm still itching for a vacation. This editorial of Aymeline on the beach for Vogue Spain doesn't help my yearning for a beachy vacay, but I do love this spread. How amaze does she look in her flower crown decked in blue hued looks by Givenchy, Balmain, Hermes, and Jason Wu? Chic, sexy, and def beach appropriate.

Quotes To Live By...

1. Don't be fooled by your emptiness. There's so much more room for happiness.
2. When another person makes you suffer, it is because he suffers deeply within himself, and his sufering is spilling over. He does not need punishment; he needs help. That's the message he is sending.
3. The greatest gift you can give to somebody is your own personal development. I used to say, 'If you take care of me, I will take care of you.' Now I say, 'I will take care of me for you, if you will take care of you for me.' - Jim Rohn
4. Say it before it's too late.
5. I always think I can get better. I'm never satisfied, that's why I keep working.

Photo Diary: 25th Birthday

IMG_2937

I cannot believe how fast time flies by. Another year wiser I suppose after ringing in my quarter century this past week. I decided to do something a little more low key this time around for my birthday, which included brunch and a quick yet intimate time at a bar with some of my closest friends. A lot has happened during my 24th year, and I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for me.

Vanishing Underground Feat. Liya Kebede & David Agbodji for Vogue Japan April

001

I haven't seen supermodel Liya Kebede in a high fashion editorial in a while, but I absolutely LOVED this one she did with Vogue Japan. Styled by the sexy man himself, George Cortina, Kebede is dressed in various designers from Balenciaga, Suno, Lanvin and a slew of others. With an African inspired look, Kebede is a knockout. J'ADORE!
