Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010

year1 year2 year3 year4 year5 year6
I have a few last ones to add showing Christmas of 2009, but photoshop was being stupid and for some reason wouldn't let me edit. I'll add those in a separate post with nothing but Christmas photos.

2009 was nothing but opportunities, achievements and successes for me. Let's hope the same continues for 2010. =)

Avatar in 3D

So after all the Christmas festivities with the Dizons last night, Phil, my sister, Jen, Nikko and I decided to watch a 945pm showing of Avatar in 3D. Our little cousin Amanda's bf let us in basically for free; how nice of him right? So, we basically waited in line for a good hour, which sucked. But, it was totally worth it. We got to see a 3D trailer of Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland, which was cool and the movie ended up being more than my expectations. Ugh, I actually really want to see it again. Not only is it action packed and visually stimulating, but there were plenty of historical and political references in the movie that made it even more enticing. From wiping out an indigenous tribe to war, this movie was just jam packed with details. Never was there a dull moment in the movie and I'm glad it ended with a happy ending. Plus the romance in the film was heart felt and I'm a total sucker for those things! Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana are amazing in this film as well as Sigourney Weaver. I didn't even know Michelle Rodriguez was in the film, but she was actually quite good too. Ugh, I recommend everyone to see this film!

After the movie ended, the movie was all my cousins and I were talking about. The two hours and forty-five minutes went by fast, but I couldn't imagine the movie if it had been cut down shorter. On another note, I didn't know James Cameron, the director of Titanic, directed this film! He did an amazing job with all the CGI stuff, and I think if they did this film ten years ago, they wouldn't have been able to do the things they are able to do now digitally. The movie was really full of color and makes you in awe of their planet "Pandora," I wonder if its a message that our own planet used to or still is in small parts of the world, just as beautiful. I'm on google maps and the only things I see are sky scrapers, buildings, and houses! Such a shame. But anyways, I want to see it on IMAX now!!!!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!! Just wanted to do a quick blog. Yesterday for Christmas eve, the mom's side of the family came over. It's amazing when you haven't seen your cousins for a long time and then you see them now and they're all grown up! Glad to see my uncle back in the game as he brought his new girl friend over to meet the rest of the family. Unfortunately, Mona and her family were unable to come, because they were celebrating Christmas with her Dad's family. But other than that, It was great to see my mom's family, because we don't see them too often. For Christmas on my mom's side I received a Starbucks gift card (YES!), money, Skull Candy headphones, and more money.

Today, we spent Christmas with my dad's family and my dad's family is huge, because my grandma had 12 kids, which means I have 19 cousins I think. IDK. But we're all around the same age and we basically grew up together at my grandma's house, which makes us all super close. It was great to be together. Here's a picture of Noelan. Ain't he super cute in his bow tie, plaid paints, and Jordans? I ate so much food like crab curry, shrimp lumpia, steak, and some filipino dishes I can't spell out. But anyways, the cousins decided to do a Secret Santa this year with Elfster being that we are in a recession. I ended up getting Nikko and bought him these super cool eco friendly tote bag things from BAGGU and I like them so much, I bought one for myself. He ended up getting me, and bought my Teen Vogue Handbook: An Insider's Guide to Careers In Fashion. Super excited to read up on it. I have ton's of pictures. I'll post them when I get back to SB.

Other than that, the cousins and I plan on checking out AVATAR in 3D, because we have all heard from my sister that it is AMAZING. So we'll see how that goes. =) Merry Christmas to all my readers and your families!

SATC 2 Trailer!

Sex and the City 2 in HD

Trailer ParkMySpace Video

I can not wait for the summer!! The movie looks epic and even more chic! Bringing back the turbans? HOTTTTT. Over the fall there has been pictures around the internet of them back in the 80s/90s era, I wonder when that comes to play and what the basic story line is about. Either way, I can't wait! CARRIE ON!!

Current Music Obsessions

cd1
Florence & The Machine - First heard them from Anna and immediately fell in love with them. The lead singer has an amazing voice and listening to them in the city makes me feel like I'm seriously full of life. They're absolutely amazing. My favorite songs include Howl, You've Got The Love, Cosmic Love, and Kiss With A Fist.

Glee - Since I adore the show, I enjoy the music twice as much. My favorites right now include Somebody To Love, Don't Stop Believing, Don't Make Me Over, Crush, Smile (Charlie Chaplin cover), Papa Don't Preach, And I Am Telling You I Am Not Going, and Imagine.

cd2
Robin Thicke - This album is definitely more sultry and sexy than his last. It's a much more sex oriented album, just what I like. My favorite songs include Meiple (ft. JayZ), It's In The Mornin (ft Snoop Dog), Elevatas (ft Kid Cudi), Jus Right, Mona Lisa, Brand New Luv, and Diamonds (ft. The Game).

Lady Gaga - What is there to say? It's a given. I LOVE HER WHOLE ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cd3c

La Roux - I first heard about her while I was watching the Chanel ss 2010 collection on my ipod. I fell in love with the song and then I heard the song on MTV's The City or The Hills (can't remember). But I love her raw voice and the tech-pop her music has. It's very euro, but with a twist. I love In For The Kill and Fascination (which I heard on Ugly Betty).

Timbaland - Haven't really listened to much of the album but my favorites include Carry Out (ft Justin Timberlake), Morning After Dark (ft So-Shy & Nelly Furtado, If We Ever Meet Again (ft Katy Perry), and Marching On (Timbos Version ft. One Republic)

PS. My phone was stolen after a little shindig at Bellas. SUCKS ASS and I curse the day the person who stole my phone was born! But I get my new BB manana. =) Karmas not friendly, so I hope it truly bites you in the ass. Thank jeebus I had a password on my phone, so they won't be able to get into my 300+ contacts, my pictures (had some XXX ones on there, sike), and my videos! I'm so upset becuase I recorded a lot on my phone and took a few pictures on my phone of Lady Gaga's Monster Ball. =( Oh well, New Year, New Phone. Starting fresh.

RIP Brittany Murphy

71415541SS007_World_Premier
So sad! Brittany died on Sunday, December 20th due to cardiac arrest. Like most celebrities, I'm sure there was much more involved with her death. Hopefully drugs or her weirdo of a husband didn't play a part in her death. I was such a huge fan of Brittany in Clueless, Uptown Girls, Happy Feet, and Sin City. Ashton was right, we lost little piece of sunshine. She had such a cute, kooky, sweet, and friendly presence when I saw her in interviews and in movies. She will be missed! =( RIParadise Brittany Murphy.

Tres Intéressant.

J'adore Anna Wintour. Il est très intéressant quand elle parle Vogue français. Je ne peux pas attendre pour aller à Paris, France!

Paper Hearts & Sunshine Cleaning.

So last night I decided to get some drinks with Sophia, Anna, and Isabella. It was very much well needed being that everyone was done with finals and me being back home; it was just great to see everyone. Picked up Bella and we headed to H&M to return this really nice blazer I got in LA, but unfortunately I thought about it and realized it wasn't a classic and versatile piece. I figured it would have to come with pants in order for it to be timeless, because the blazer was too formal/elegant. Anyways, after that we head over to Bayfair Chilis, but realize our friend Amy works at the Union City Chilis and Anna is waiting for us over there so we haul our ass over to the UC one. Get there and immediately order a round of margaritas and bottomless chips and salsa. Great conversations.

After that I headed home and decided to watch a few movies. I watched Paper Hearts with Charlyne Yi and Michael Cera. It's about Charlyne and her beliefs about love that doesn't exist so she goes around asking others around the country about what love is, have they experienced love, have they been heart broken and what not. At the same time she is documenting her travels and discoveries all while falling in love unexpectedly with Michael Cera. I thought the movie overall was a pretty cute movie. She's such a kooky girl and he's such an awkward guy I thought they were perfect for each other. I really want this movie now on DVD.

I've also been wanting to watch Sunshine Cleaning with Amy Adams and Emily Blunt. I'm such a huge Emily Blunt fan I loved her in The Devil Wears Prada. Anyways, this movie was particularly about two struggling sisters trying I guess to find a meaning for themselves as their mother committed suicide when they were little girls. They end up creating a business together that really just mends their struggling family together. Overall, I thought it was a pretty good movie. I would buy this movie on DVD too. Good night last night.

Tonight is Keith's Bday at Dave and Busters, can't wait to see Jessica! I haven't seen her since last month! Hmmm other than that, my dad and I have been trying to get my other two siblings to pick a day so we can all head to the snow to board. It has been awhile and my board needs some snow stat. I feel really bad for my dad because he's been wanting to go for awhile. He's really anxious about tackling those black diamonds at Northstar. If I'm back in SB and he goes without me I wish him luck! I wonder if I'll ever get to go with my friends, hopefully!

mens-health-january-2010-full-cover
It's been awhile since I've seen him in a movie or tv show. I wonder what his current project is. With this cover, I hope it involves a lot of shirtless scenes. I remember when he used to be so scrawny! MMMMMMM

Back in The Game.

Today was my first day back at CBS. Man, does it feel good to be back. I missed seeing my boss, Akilah and our wonderful receptionist Dee Dee. It was great to work with Justin today. He's a great guy and I got to see a glimpse of Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant's new movie, Have you Heard About The Morgans? We did some day porting with some scenes, and it looks like a pretty good movie. Today was actually a pretty busy day. I did two scripts, schlepped a huge box of sunglasses out from our "cage" (which is the most scariest place in the garage), I did some research on Harrison Ford's new movie, Extreme Measures, which is being filmed in the city! and I forgot what else I did. I'm glad I got the chance to continue my internship, because I really do hope that it will set me apart from a pack when I try to obtain the job of my dreams. We'll see about that.

It was also a good feeling to be back in the city. After New York, I just realized that I am such a city person. Don't get me wrong, I love living in Santa Barbara, but I'm sure after college I'll be living it up in the city, where I belong. Just the thrill of it make me feel like I'm in a movie or on an adventure. Big cities are cities that never sleep and are full of magic! I need to make some skrilla so I can move to the city stat!

Alright well I'm off to finish wrapping some gifts for Christmas! Just put up our ornaments up yesterday, so I love being by the tree now that we have it all dolled up! MMMMMM and eggnog and a cream cheese pastry and hot coco with marshmallows! I'm in heaven.

Funnny.

So last night, while I was up during the wheeeeee hours of the night I decided to browse the fashion/pr industry online to see what was available in terms of jobs/internships. Being that I live in Santa Barbara about 70% of the time in a year, I was pretty much just disappointed, because I found numerous of jobs that I would have loved to be considered for like interning at NastyGal, working at Jeremy's (new store in Berkeley!), and working as a fashion assistant for the CEO of like.com. Speaking of like.com, I found their ad on craiglist and who ever wrote it deserves an applaud for it's professionalism and humor. Check it out:

Lady Gaga's THE MONSTER BALL

Wow. I had the time of my life last night. Lady Gaga's The Monster Ball tour definitely DID NOT fall short of my expectations. I will say that I forgot my camera cord in SB, which really sucks, so I won't be able to upload any pictures until I go back in January. Semi Precious Weapons opened first. They were extremely energetic, entertaining, and flat out rock and roll crazy, but I loved it. Vince says the lead singer is a tranny, but he was one fierce tranny with leggings and 6 inch heels. "I CAN'T PAY RENT. BUT I'M FUCKING GORGEOUS."
Kid Cudi then continued the concert. I honestly didn't think he was going to be good, but he ended up being really great. Not only was he down to earth and subtle, but he was entertaining. I mean when you play your Day & Night single, your smash hit Memories with David Guetta, Soundtrack 2 my life, Simple As and Cudi Zone your sure to please the crowd. Although his set was completely simple, I'm glad to see he didn't use anything that distracted from his raw talent.

OMGGGGGG!!! LADYYYYY GAGA!!!! MY MONSTER QUEENN!!!! The opening of her show was visually stimulating from the get go. She opened with her fabulous song 'Dance In The Dark.' It was all just nerves and excitement just to see her. For the first good five minutes, it was hard to see her because of all the fog, but when we the fog settled everyone went crazy! She opened wearing an outfit that was basically lit in the dark so you could see her moving. Her overall costumes were outrageous and VERY LADY GAGA. She performed about ninety percent of her FAME album and THE FAME MONSTER album, which is insane. Her acoustic versions were delightfully heart striking and entertaining. I'm going to say Just Dance, Monster, Boys Boys Boys, and Bad Romance were the most vibrant, entertaining and well performed songs she performed, but I would be STUPID to say the whole concert was not like that.

Her dancers were completely hot I was practically having a visual orgasm and her set was amazing. Ugh, I'm still deaf from the show, but it was all worth it. Waiting in line in the cold at 4pm when the show started at 730pm was also worth it. Until then, suggestions for my next concert?

Roadblock.

Just learned I bombed my comm final, which isn't good. Hopefully I'll be able to pull at least a B- or B in the class with the help of the curve. It's either make it or break it for me for this class, because it determines my chances for getting into the full comm major. I really don't know what my backup major would be if I didn't do comm. =/

Anyways, after feeling terribly bummed about my final, decided to relax and wine down from school this quarter by popping a bottle of wine. We actually just came back from Los Angeles about 4 hours ago. Shopped and did all my Christmas shopping onMelrose and at the Beverly Center. Super fun. There's never a dull moment when you shop at Marc By Marc Jacobs! Always cool stuff at awesome prices. Anyways, I'm going to have to wake up early tomorrow morning to start my drive back home and pick up a few last minute gifts before that. Ciao Bellos!

Getting Impatient.

My last final isn't till Friday, so I've been studying my little arse off. I was in the library last night for eight hours studying for something that isn't two days from now. But, I guess that's what I wanted. I NEED to feel confident that I know my comm stuff front to back, so I can score an A in the class. Ugh, and I hate how I see everyone on facebook saying they're done with finals. UBER JELLS!

On a brighter note, I keep saying I have this weekend to look forward to (thanks jeebus). Timmy also comes to visit SB today, so that's exciting. =( I JUST WANT FRIDAY MORNING TO BE OVER ALREADY!!!!!!!!!

ps. and I can't wait to be with my little monster Boo when I come back home. I miss her dearly. =(

pps. I'm currently interning right now and I just finished writing a script for my supervisor's television show with Cirque Du Soleil OVO as our guest. How cool is it that I get to write scripts involving prominent people and performances?!

It's freezing in my apartment and it's raining cats and dogs outside. I hope the weather gets better this weekend. I have Los Angeles, my drive back home, and Lady Gaga to look forward to and having this rain won't make my trip that easy. =/ Ahhh or my bike ride to my finals!

Christian Louboutin MEN ss/2010

Hold your breath boys! Christian has begun the Men's collection for his shoe line. And of course, the handsome Pharrell already has a snagged himself a pair. UBER JELLS. Aren't these sneakers sick? I'd opt for the leather tie ups though, the studs are soo sick that I need them in my life. What's up with all these wonderful shoes for me?

Yes, umm aren't these clothes just the epitome of my fashion sense? Cool, chic, modern, and a bit preppy? Not only is Joseph extremely handsome and charming, but his style here is on hit. Can't I have all those clothes please? I'd be one happy camper. Plus, I've been looking for a nice slim suit and all the clothes Joseph is wearing are 500 and less. I need to go on a man hunt. stat.

First day of December, Last month of the Year.

I can't believe it's December already. Christmas is only twenty four days away! I honestly can't wait to get my secret santa gift this year with my friends. This year, I feel like kind of going all out. We'll see. It's going to be genius!

So the girls are planning on going to Las Vegas next weekend, after finals and what an AMAZING idea is that? They cordially invited me, and we'll see if I get to go. It's really up to my parents since they would be the ones funding my trip. But if I don't go, I'm not too bummed. Timmy is coming to SB on the 9th, so I'll get to see him and at least get a good rest for Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Concert. But I'm pushing really hard to go to Vegas. This year would treat me very well if I went. New york, Disneyland, Lily Allen, Gwen Stefani, Paramore, The Sounds, finally moving out here to SB, among other things, but including Vegas would make this year impeccable. *cross my fingers.

Alright, well I feel constipated and I honestly don't want to do anything. But, I really need to make something for me to eat and get started on some studying and reading. Finals are next week! FML.

Monday, November 30, 2009

Can I have those please?

Mark Ronson recently did a collaboration with Gucci for Mens shoes, and I absolutely love them. The pair he's holding to the right is actually my favorite pair. If you know me well, you know that I LOVE boat shoes and I've been trying to look for some high top boat shoes! These are a great pair because their both a boat shoe and sneaker. Plus, they're Gucci!! I want em. Anyone love me a lot? ;]

Speaking of Mark, when will you be helping our beloved Amy make some damn new music? I miss her, badly. At least she's not a crack head anymore. Make her some hits Mark!

PS. If you haven't noticed, I blogged everyday for the month of November! YES!!! I was actually trying to do that, and I did. Glad to see I have time to blog. =)

First Quarter Coming to An End.

Wow, I can't believe it's practically December! Where has the time gone? I just got back to SB from my Thanksgiving vacation back home. It was great again to see everyone and eat a ton of food. My dad's side of the family decided to have this year's Christmas Eve at my houses, again. Guess I don't mind, but I would have preferred it in Mountain House, since we rarely go over there to see my cousins new house and my uncles new house. It's cool though.

Last night we had a little potluck with my closest friends and decided to pick our secret santa names. Everyone was there except Sophia and Toya. Sophia was in Vegas and I think Toya died. HAHA jk. IDK WTH happened to her. I can't wait to start shopping for my person! Christmas shopping is the best. I already know what to get for my person.

Speaking of Christmas, as soon as I finished putting away my laundry, food, and other stuff from back home, I decided to surprise and decorate the apartment a bit. I love the holidays, so I needed some reminder it was the holidays while I am stressing here at school. I found some cool Christmas themed seat covers that I put on the chairs, bordered the window with lights, and put up some silver garland with blue glitter ornaments. I even bought some egg nogg! yummmm. Anyways, I have a shizz load of reading and paper writing and reviewing to do before dead week begins tomorrow. AHHHH!

Saturday, November 28, 2009

What a weekend.

Today is officially my last full day before going back to school. It was definitely, like always, wonderful to have been back. I got to see a ton of my friends and spend this Thanksgiving with my family as usual. I can't wait to be back home for Christmas break and for this quarter to be OVER. I hope I get good grades in my classes!

After this quarter is over, I get to look forward to Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Tour & Lake Tahoe for a snowboard trip at Vince's cabin. I wonder what I'll be doing for New Years. Hopefully something good! We'll see..
