Blood is Thicker Than Water.

Family is always first. Today I woke up getting ready for my internship. Did a ton of things like always (which is always great, because I am continually busy and learning new things), but I was also given a joining task with my fellow intern, Sanyee to obtain a tape we would use as B-Roll for our Bay Sunday tape. We would have to pick up the tape from Oakland around 130. We get to the station around 130pm and receive the tape. While I'm there I get a txt from my cousin Camilla saying "911 911, call me asap!" So i give her a call and find out my aunt is in the hospital from a stroke. I later find out that the left side of her brain and body isn't responding and that she is most likely paralyzed on the right side of her body. I was in such shock I didn't know whether to cry, leave my internship without telling my supervisor or anything. I basically headed back to the station and asked to leave early. My receptionist Dee Dee said not to worry and to just leave, and that she would let my supervisor know. I got to Eden hospital around 330pm. I found out it all happened around 10am, and my sister rode in the ambulance with my aunt. My grandma has no idea what happened, because all her kids (my aunts and uncles) want to refrain her from freaking out. Kind of sad. I got to see her and she was hooking up to a bunch of tubes and had a neck brace. I haven't been too close to her, but she is my dad's sister and my dad's family is huge and super close. Although she has been pretty distant from not only my siblings, cousins, but also her other siblings (like my dad) I still feel like we're close. She's especially close to Camilla since she was growing up with her. It just strikes me that it happened randomly and totally out of the blue. AHHHHH! I just got home about an hour ago. I have work tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to here POSITIVE NEWS about her recovery. =(

DISNEYLAND - Just Landed!!

Just wanted to do a quick blog, now that I'm in Disneyland! Vince, Krystle, Sophia, Anna, and I all slept together at Anna's last night then left around 7am for the trip. Right as we left, we got super exited despite our fatigue. Though it was def a long drive, it is totally worth it now that we're here. The hotel is pretty sweet, we upgraded our room to a suite and it is def worth it. The room is bigger! Disneyland is accross the street and I can't wait to be going tomorrow and Sunday! Anna's bday is tonight at midnight and I can't wait to surprise her with cake and champagne! Happy 21st bday Anna! Alright, I'm going to start enjoying my vacay! Ttyl! <3

No Doubt, Paramore & The Sounds

Just wanted to do a quick BB blog after No Doubt concert! It seriously just reiterated how much I love Gwen Stefani and how much I missed No Doubt! Saw Gwen back in 2006 for her Harajuki Lovers tour and she was amazing yet again. No to mention her killer abs. I was only able to take a few pics on my BB, because my camera was dead again! Last time @ Lily Allen, it was going out too! Ugh I don't know why that keeps happening! But anyways, I also loved Paramore. Haley has such a great voice and her energy is just as great. I'm glad The Sounds are getting some publicity with this tour. They truly are an act to look out for. I'll upload pics manana. <3

[EDIT//] Here's a few shitty quality photos I took last night on my BB.

The most flattering email yet..

I got an email from my old Business Law professor today:

It's so great to hear from you, Ishmael. When I sent my reference, the response I got was something like "wow--we'll definitely hire him!", so I'm not surprised. I do hope you fully understand that you're a pretty amazing person--smart, engaged, curious, creative, interesting, likeable, and responsible. That's a wonderful set of qualities for an intern, and this sounded like the perfect job for you. I would be happy to be a reference for you in the future. Some day, I'll tell my friends that I knew you as a student, and they'll be impressed!

Enjoy your summer,

Jan

My resume is going to kick ass!

Addicted.

Shakira's new single, She Wolf has been on repeat for the last 20 minutes on my itunes. I feel like its def a different type of vibe for Shakira, but it still has that Latin flavor of hers. HOT!!

[//EDIT] Now i'm addicted to this joint. Drake's voice is sexy, not too sure about his looks. haha But this remake with Lykke Li is super sick.

Alexander Wang for MEN! AMEN!

Early January, Alexander Wang announced his plans to create a spring 2010 collection for men, and now according to WWD, the collection will be unveiled later this month! It is said that the collection will be in partners with his secondary T label. I'm super exited! Alexander's stuff is always downtown, grungy, hipster, sophistication with an edge. Just look what he conjures up for women! It's absolutely BANANAS. I can't wait to buy a few items from his mens line!

Horoscope

Dear Aries is back at work. Balancing fun and work is the best way to enjoy the summer. Aries, you may have romance heading your way, but a business opportunity could turn it all around. While you're figuring this all out, take the time to smell the roses, for life is for those that live.

Fourth of July Weekend

A few weeks ago, Vince invited and told us that he and his family would be going up to Tahoe for the 4th of July weekend. Anna and I weren't too sure what we were going to do this year, because last year was practically amazing (the city + friends + hotel + booze + Chanel & YSL = AMAZING). We decided to go with him to Tahoe since a majority of our friends were off doing there own thing. Plus, we liked the roadtrip/adventure idea since we wanted to make the best of our summer. We ended up leaving Thursday night after Vince got off of work around 930pm. Then we headed out around 10 and got there sometime in the am. His cabin was incredible. Anna and I got to sleep in their game room, which included two full sized beds; one for Anna and one for me. We spent the whole weekend relaxing, watching Bruno trailers & interviews, playing pool, eating, enjoying the weather, drinking, and going on outdoor adventures. We got to see the fireworks through the restaurant we ate at. We didn't feel like settling down to watch them outside by the lake as we weren't prepared and the loads of drunk people on the strip didn't help either. But other than that, our fourth was great. Yay for Vince's cabin. Vince, Anna and I want to make another trip up there with the rest of friends cause we know we'll have even more fun. Looks like we'll be back, soon hopefully.

Tasty.

Look at the cake I got to enjoy at my internship today! CBS 5 Eye on The Bay did a segment on Half Moon Bay's Elegant Cakes, which are absolutely amazing! I checked them out online and their cakes range from $150 to $3,500!! It was absolutely bananas. It was a chocolate cheesecake and it was basically a shirt with a bunch of CBS 5 related logos and Bay Area stuff. It even had a rainbow to represent SF's Pride. Oh, and the sand, seashells, starfish, and sand dollars were all edible too!! It was absolutely delicious, I had to come back twice. What a glorious Wednesday.

AMAZING.

Found this on Perez Hilton, and thought I should post it since I LOVE LILY ALLEN! I wish I could sing as well as these kids do. It's so soothing, hmm is that the right word for this video? Maybe more sweet than soothing. IDK.
