Paris Fashion Week: Spring/Summer 2012 Favorites part three

Chanel - Probably one of my favorite CHANEL shows in a long time. Uncle Karl sent out a sea of light and feminine pieces down the ss 12 runway at one of my favorite venues in Paris, the Grand Palais. The collection showcased delicate layers of silk chiffon matched with classic CHANEL tweeds. Ivory, silver, soft salmon, and seafoams dominated the color palette of the show with pearl embellishments and a few abstract prints. It was a definitely an underwater theme with models in slicked back hair, plush pink lips and cheeks and pearl ornaments resembling facial piercings. View the full collection here.

Valentino - Surely a red carpet go to for this ss 12 collection at Valentino. The dynamic duo that is Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli once again delivered classic dreamy elegance for the label’s spring 2012 collection. The Valentino woman had several different looks between womanly sophistication and girlish innocence with leather, cutouts, laced maxi downs, and sheer details. I absolutely loved every signature Valentino red dress that walked the show, completely chic and very Valentino. Chirui and Piccioli continued with the season's trend of statement jewelry with amazing tear drop earrings. View the full collection here.

Hakaan - I love a good sports wear collection and like Alexander Wang and Altuzarra, I loved the ss 12 collection for Hakaan. The mastermind behind his personal label illustrated well defined form-fitting silhouettes with sheer tops and high hemlines that screamed sex appeal. Despite the lack of color, Yildirim focused on a strict palette of black and white with hints of metallic hues. I can see Christine Centenera rocking this entire collection. It did weird me out that there was a lot of nipple exposure, perhaps a cute sweet heart bandeau or a simple one would have sufficed. Other than that, I love a good sexy collection. Alexander McQueen - This is only Sarah Burton's third collection for the house of McQueen and yet again she has proven us all why she was the perfect successor of the great Alexander. The entire collection from start to end was hauntingly beautiful with airy and light creations to dark and almost bondage masterpieces. The dramatic shapes that define the McQueen woman were brought to life in hues of blush pinks, soft lilacs, hints of gold, and classic black and white. A complete fairytale with it's very own protagonist and antagonist. Absolutely mind-blowing and pure perfection. ALL HAIL MCQUEEN!!! View the full collection here.
