Freja Beha Erichsen for Chanel Fall Winter 2011

Freja-Beha-Erichsen-for-Chanel-Fall-Winter-2011.12-DesignSceneNet-01
I'm sure by now, many CHANEL/Freja Beha Erichsen/Carine Roitfeld fans have seen the infamous cat ad for CHANEL's Fall/Winter 2011 campaign. Now we get to see a few more ads for the French house and they seem fun, chic, and even sexy (which to me is a bit of a first for a CHANEL campaign, but I suppose that's what you get when you have the controversial ex editor-in-chief of French Vogue style your campaign.) What do you guys think?

Jessica Stam for Dress to Kill Summer 2011

jessica-stam1
I haven't seen one of my favorite models, Jessica Stam in a long time so I was happy to see her in a spread for Dress to Kill, which she does along side designer Jean Paul Gaultier. The JPG muse showcases some of the most breathtaking creations from the designer. I was recently at the San Francisco De Young Museum for the Balenciaga and Spain exhibit and I was having lunch when I stumbled upon some news that the French designer himself would be having an exhibit at the De Young. For more info on the exhibit, click here. I cannot wait to see more of Stam, which I hope is soon. It's been too long.

New York Wish List

nycwantlist2
I cannot wait for my trip to New York City for work in the next few weeks! I plan on doing a lot of shopping while I'm out there, especially if I'm not having to spend a dime on my stay there (food, hotel, etc.). I've already conjured up a list of things I MUST get while I'm out there. Given that there's a few stores out there that we west coasters don't have (IE: Top Shop and Uniqlo), I planned on grabbing a few things there such as those natural slim cargo's from Uniqlo, which I've been wanting FOREVER. And although I originally wanted to purchase a handbag, I thought it would be more practical just to get a really nice wallet and card holder, since I would be spending god knows how much money in Vegas only a few days before I leave for NYC. AHH!!!!

Anne Hathaway for Harper’s Bazaar US August 2011

annehbazaarcovfall11annehbazaar1
I'm a huge fan of Annie's (as Rachel Zoe would call her). I was talking about her with a friend and I was mentioning how I cannot wait to see her play Selina Kyle aka Cat Woman on the new Christopher Nolan's Batman film since most of her previous films portray similar characters; cute, funny, witty, and pretty. Hopefully her more sexy/vixen role will be a nice change of pace for the actress. Anywho, I think she looks stunning in the August Issue of Harpers. Donning fall looks from collections including McQueen, Prada, and my favorite, Givenchy. I have a feeling Givenchy's Fall 2011 collection is going to be everywhere this fall, and we've already seen Beyonce rocking the Ricardo Tisci pieces for W and for Dazed and Confused. I cannot wait, I absolutely LOVED this collection. But other than that, enjoy the gorgeous Anne Hathaway in this editorial spread.

Angelo Flaccavento

Besides Milano and Francesco, I've also been seeing a lot of this bearded man, Italian fashion journalist, Angelo Flaccavento. His signature thick-rimmed glasses, neatly-trimmed beard, tailored blazer and unique bow tie style is easy to spot in almost any photo blogger's blog/tumblr. You'll find Flaccavento on Nam's blog, Guerre's, Tommy's, Scott's and many more and for good reason. I recently read a post that Guerre did on the fashion journalist and I found him quite interesting, intelligent, well spoken, and sexy at the same time. Read for yourself, excerpts include:

Who are you:
A dreamer and an observer.
I write about fashion and style.

Passion:
Beauty. Elegance. Knowledge.

What is style?
Style is the mark of what you are on what you do. I believe gentleness is an essential part of it.

Where do you draw inspiration from:
Real life and the imagined life of books, films, dreams. The work of costumer Piero Tosi never
ceases to amaze me, too.

2 Rules you live by:
Think & Dream.

What advice would you have for someone who’s cultivating their own style?
To do it for themselves, not to please others or seek for acceptance.

3 Pet Peeves (things you dislike)
Arrogance. Vulgarity. Primadonnas.
angelo-flaccavento4 angelo-flaccavento1

What is a daily must (beyond bathing, brushing your teeth, etc )?
A jog, to keep fit and clear the mind. Sex, but there’s no need to explain why.

Best advice you’ve received:
From my father: do not compromise, even if this makes you unpopular.

Is there any one person in particular close to you that inspired you?
My mom: for her selfless love and constant dedication.

Is your style only represented in how you dress?
The way I write is just as representative, expressive and oddly classic.

3 books you’d recommend:
Operette Morali – Giacomo Leopardi
American Lessons – Italo Calvino
The trilogy of the city of K – Agota Kristof

5 things every person should do before dying:
I’ll pass on this. Everybody should live their life according to individual parameters.

What separates a leader from a follower?
A leader is willing to accept failure as a part of progress. He is also independent and unpredictable.

Angelo Flaccavento5

During trying times, what brings you peace of mind?
Thinking of the vast open sea.

Last thing that made you smile?
A child on the street that laughed at my beard calling me Santa Claus.

My life is… (finish the sentence)
An endless search. The process, to me, is way more important than the product.

Jonathan Adler & Simon Doonan for The Coveteur

Adler_Doonan-07-full
The Coveteur is one my daily read and I always reblog some of their best posts. I found designer and potter, Jonathan Adler and his partner, Creative Ambassador At-Large for Barneys New York, Simon Doonan, to be about much more than their clothes. Their home caught my attention at first glance and I was instantly hooked. From their color schemes, wall paper, the moulding of the walls/ceilings, art, and furniture, I couldn't help but feel inspired but to add some of my own quirkiness to my own home. I see those Hermes orange accents and banana leaf like plants again. Ugh I want my own home now and finances that will help me make my house amazing! One day... Other than their home, I couldn't also help but feel envious of their monk strap shoe collection! Jelly!!

Make Your Benji

I thought this was a super cool idea. Make Your Franklin is a community project where people from all over the world can design their own hundred dollar bill yall! I would love to blow up some of these and make them art in my apt. How fun would that be?
