Mike Tompkins

I've blogged about Mike Tompkins once before, and I love his rendition of MJ's Pretty Young Thing among these other two covers of Teenage Dream/Just The Way You Are & Misery. I don't see how any one can be as talented as he is with his voice and mouth. Talk about a unique quality. I also like how he's pretty good looking, which makes it easier to watch his videos. swooooonn!

A Woodsy Idea

woodhomeinsp1
I kind of like the idea of incorporating natural elements into my home (or I should say bedroom/bathroom/kitchen?). At my old internship with DIANI, our store manager would include driftwood to our sales floor, which added a beach theme and despite my dislike for anything beachy.. it definitely added a calming feeling to the environment when people shopped. Although I wouldn't personally add driftwood to my place, I think incorporating small cherry blossoms, or artistic pieces of wood like the ones shown here could really be an alternative to something fresh like flowers. I love the grey and yellow tones mixed with the earthy elements...what do you guys think? Too Modern Montana?

Chloe Resort Collection 2012

chlores1
I love the mix between soft feminine pieces and structured masculine pieces. I couldn't picture anyone else at Chloe other than it's current creative director, Hannah McGibbon. She always keeps those Chloe girls wanting more and more. And I think Jacquelyn Jablonski is the perfect model to show off the latest resort collection from the fashionably girly house. I'm slowly becoming a huge fan of hers..

Versace x H&M Collaboration

vershm1
H&M’s creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch recently announced earlier today that the swedish mega retailer has tapped Donatella Versace has their new designer collaboration. And with previous designer collaborations including Karl Lagerfeld, Roberto Cavalli, and Lanvin among many more, it's definitely a step forward for H&M. "The collection will be quintessential Versace, perfect for H&M and Versace fans everywhere,” says the creative director herself. The collection will include 40 pieces for women and 20 pieces for men including accessories, all of which are inspired by classic Versace elements. I've included a few photos I found on Wendy's blog that preview the fall collection due November 17th. The photo above of Donatella is a dress that will be included in the H&M collaboration. I'll wait for the look book to come out until I can make my further opinion, but from these photos, the collection looks like it'll definitely be sexy and very Versace. What do you guys think? Are you excited for the collaboration?

Jamming To...

Rye Rye - New Thing: I first heard this song when I saw Prabal Gurung's Resort Collection video, which featured the upbeat songstress. It's incredibly infectious, and I love watching the video and trying to impersonate her dancing (which I find extremely difficult).

Drake - Trust Issues: Ummm, when is Drakey Baby coming out with a new album? I hope it's soon, because I am loving this song titled, Trust Issues. I love his sexy voice with the combination of his rap skills. Pure sexiness.

JoJo - Marvin's Room (Can't Do Better): Speaking of Drake, I love this recently released cover JoJo did of the rappers song, Marvin's Room. This song has been on non-strop repeat for me and a ton of friends. It's sexy and empowering at the same time. But seriously, no one can do better..

Maroon 5 ft. Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger: I would have never anticipated this song to sound like the way it does with a title like, Moves Like Jagger, but the collaboration between The Voice Judges, Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera is absolutely genius.

Zoe Saldana for Harper’s Bazaar Russia July/August 2011

zoerushbazaarcover
This girl needs to do some serious work, so she can land US covers. I haven't seen her in a really good film since Star Trek. Then again, I'm glad she's getting some recognition from international fashion publications like she is here with Harper's Bazaar Russia. She looks amazing (like always) and I cannot wait to see her editorial shoot. This Puerto Rican/Dominican in anything skin-tight white is a given. Zoe Saldana is still one massive girl crush.

"It Gets Better: CBS Employees"

I am so proud to have interned at a corporation that takes action against bullying and sexual orientation discrimination. As a former intern at CBS with a superviser who was actively part of the LGBTQ community, it's great to see her involved in such a proactive, strong, and supportive movement towards equality and support for all. If you watch the video, my supervisor's name is Akilah, and I would love to give her a shout out on my blog! I'm so proud of her for being in this video and taking a stand against bullying, because it really is an issue for everyone and anyone growing up. It's not easy to hear things that may put you down, cry, or feel "worthless." Just thought I should blog about this, because at the end of it, it really does get better.
