Content.

Just thought I'd actually write something to change up my content on my blog. Lets see...

My honors education research class is kind of a drag. Though we talk about how transfer students can benefit in terms of UCSB's resources/professors, our sections are pretty therapeutic. We spend about two hours on Thursday talking about how we felt about lecture, taking quizzes on numerous online articles, and have conversations that makes you feel like you were in middle school. I know the professor and discussion leader mean well, but sometimes I can't stand the class! I haven't even started on my honors research paper for the class, which is about the budget cuts and how it has affected high education in transfer students specifically. Although I have interviewed a director in the financial office, I also need to survey the 150 students in class, and read up on some articles about the topic. GREAT. At least it isn't due till November.

Just finished my first official paper! I hope it really meets the university standard. My paper is for my communication 1 class and we basically were given a show to interpret verbal and non verbal language in a particular scene. My section was given ABC's Brothers & Sisters. My friend Jessica has Ugly Betty last quarter, and I was totally hoping to get Betty La Fea, but its cool. I actually liked watching Brothers & Sisters. Anyways, I finished my 6 page paper last night. Even though the paper is due Tuesday, I really wanted to get feedback and again make sure I met the UC's standard in writing. So, I forced myself to write early enough to check out our CLAS program to help me with any problems I had on my paper. The resource totally helped, and I hope my paper gets an 'A'!! My paper is basically graded on how well the other papers are, so I hope my paper kicks everyone's ass!

I've also been going to some EAP meetings especially for France. I have another meeting next Friday. Although you have to apply to before you even go and meet certain criteria, I hope I can go. I mean, I am taking French 1 this quarter and French 2 next quarter! Plus, Paris is the fashion capital of the WORLD! I've been to the fashion capital of our nation, but now I need to see something bigger and better. I better get accepted!! Je veux aller à Paris!

This Wednesday is club day at the arbor, can't wait to check out the clubs. I'd love to get involved. I'm realizing that all my time is going towards my readings and papers. I mean, you can't blame myself for being the complete opposite of a procrastinator and wanting to have all my things done a week before! But, being part of college is understanding the opportunities and experiences available to you. So, I need to separate myself from studies, and actually get involved!! Plus, I only have two years here! AHH!

After this coming week is over, I'm looking forward to Halloween weekend. Although midterms are that week, I'm sure everyone will party their little surfer butts out, because it will all be done and over with! The roommates and I decided to be Indians one of the night. We have others being Indians too, so that we can all be an Indian tribe! I'm also excited to see my sister, Jen, and my lovely bff, Anna! Tomorrow it becomes exactly a month since i've officially moved here. Since I'm not coming home till Thanksgiving, it's nice to see some familiar faces! Speaking of home, I talk to Camilla about twice a week and this week she asked me, "Do you miss home?" And on that day, I happened to realize that I don't. I mean I miss my family, my dogs and friends, but with all my school work, I honestly don't have time to sit down and miss everyone. Guess its a good thing since it allows me not to think about it and cry over it. Miss you guys back home! haha
