Haute Couture Spring 2012 Favs PT 1

Giambattista Valli // Tis the haute couture season and from what I've been seeing, it's been pretty much a bore from Dior to Armani Prive. When I think of Haute Couture, I think about the incredible work done by incredibly talented ateliers, theatrical beauty, show stoppers, and I definitely saw that in Giambattista Valli's haute couture show. With a mix of hard and soft elements, the sophomore haute couture collection showcased feminine frocks with touches of croc, lace, flowers, and sequins. The collections color scheme of plum, fuchsia, ivory, and black were absolutely stunning. Surely we'll be seeing a lot of the dresses from this particular collection on the red carpet. How amazeballs are the golden rose neck pieces?! View the full collection here.

Givenchy // Riccardo Tisci took a darker approach than his spring 2012 haute couture collection for the label, but the results are equally as stunning. The extraordinary gowns were much more harder and tougher than his previous collection with looks made of croc, leather, beaded embellishments, oversized septum rings and earrings. I'm starting to feel like I will NEVER not like a collection by Riccardo Tisci, he's just unstoppable. But wth is Maria Clara Boscono? View the full collection here.

Elie Saab // Romance and femininity were on Elie Saab's mind for the label's spring 2012 haute couture collection showcased in Paris earlier this week. This collection most definitely had a number of red carpet worthy gowns whether short or floor length, sleeveless, short sleeve, or long sleeve. A contendor for celebs of all ages for sure. It's pastel hued color scheme of pinks, sea foams, blues, and whites were absolutely stunning. I particularly love the ensemble on Jacquelyn Jablonski. View the full collection here.

Dior Couture by Patrick Demarchelier

diorcoutpat
In the world of haute couture, Dior by John Galliano was always a favorite of mine and for many reasons. The classic Dior styles with avant garde personalities, the volumes and colors of the dresses, the exquisite attention to detail and the theatricality of the clothes, the makeup and the overall show. John always knew how to create a KILLER haute couture collection for the house of Dior. Now that he is no longer the reigning man behind the label, former editor-in-chief of Interview magazine and the international editor for Vanity Fair’s European editions, Ingrid Sischy has put together a photo book featuring dresses designed by Christian himself to John Galliano. World-renowned fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier captures over 100 gowns coming from Dior Couture collections and judging from these photos, the outcomes look divine. Pure elegance and pure fashion. I wouldn't mind blowing up that photo of Monika "Jac" Jagaciak, classic and so artistic at the same time.

Atelier Versace Fall 2011

atversace1
Forget Gucci premiere, it's all about Atelier Versace. The intricate details and the overall sex appeal of these dresses go well beyond stunning; they're practically art and for good reason since the label is it's couture line. It's definitely a great follow up presentation from they're last collection. I'm almost certain many celebs will be flocking towards this fall collection for countless red carpet events. Katy Perry's already worn a piece of the collection during the MTV VMA's.

Chanel Haute Couture Fall Winter 2011-2012

To be honest, I don' know how Uncle Karl can recreate iconic pieces of CHANEL season after season and do it with such impeccable details, fine tailoring, and subtle differences. I loved the soundtrack that played in the background of CHANEL's Haute Couture collection for fall/winter. It was upbeat, alternatively different, and romantic at the same time. Not only does Uncle Karl come up with some of the best and most classic collections, he also somehow conjures up the best runway sets, like he does here with the replication of Place Vendome. GENIUS!!

Valentino Fall 2011 Haute Couture

valcout1 Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli , the duo behind Valentino's Fall 2011 Haute Couture collection, sent out a parade of feminine and classically Valentino frocks and coats. The collection showcased intricate embroidery, devoré panné velvets, romantic ivory, green and silvery hues, painted tulle, gold thread brocades and Chantilly lace that had me stunned since the very beginning of the show. Just like Givenchy, I see a lot of celebs rocking Valentino Haute Couture Fall 2011 on the red carpet. With Anne Hathaway, Amanda Peet, and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld stopping by the show, I'm sure Michelle Williams, Mia Wasikowska, Emma Watson and the likes will be rocking the couture from the Italian fashion house.

Givenchy Haute Couture Fall 2011

givenchycouture
Another awe-inspiring Haute Couture collection from the mastermind himself, Ricardo Tisci. Givenchy favorites including Mariacarla Boscono, Daphne Groeneveld, Joan Smalls, Caroline Trentini, and Izabel Goulart modeled the couture collection which illustrated romantic pieces with feathers, chantilly lace, and gauzy silk tulle details. The incredible workmanship of each dress is not only intricate, but breathtakingly beautiful and it's a given that more than one of these dresses will be hitting the red carpet. DUH. (my favorite is the last dress in this post, very sexy..)

Being at the Chanel show was like being high, but better. Never in a million years would I have imagined myself at the Haute Couture show. Reading about talented editors such as Carine and Grace is amazing, but to see them in person, is even more amazing. To be surrounded by models I see on the covers of Vogue is just mine blowing. Everyone I met including my favorite bloggers Hanneli, Bryan Boy, and Tommy Ton were extremely nice and well spoken. Style was on point at the show, and I have never seen so many women wearing Chanel in one place than I did at the show, then again, that's a given. Words cannot express how I feel or felt at the time. Chanel. =)Big thanks to photographer Brian P. for sending me these wonderful pictures.
