Over the weekend a few friends and I got to celebrate my dear friend, colleague, and favorite stylist, Kym's birthday at Casa Blanca here in Santa Barbara. She was definitely surprised by our intimate gathering and after all the booze consuming we did during dinner, I'm pretty positive she had a long day a head of her the next time she woke up. It was my first time at Casa Blanca, but I absolutely loved their drinks which were both strong and tasty. I've never had a margarita with watermelon and blueberries in it! The food was also great, but the appetizers were the best. Who doesn't love fresh guacamole?! Definitely a place I'd recommend. Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Screen Actors Guild 2012: Red Carpet Favs
There wasn't a lot of show stoppers at the SAG, but there were some definite red carpet favorites. Lately I've been noticing Viola Davis a lot, and even Glee actress, Lea Michele who's color is obvi silver even after her Marchesa moment at the GGs. I also think Jessica Chastain looks absolutely beautiful in her cobalt blue Calvin Klein number. But my ultimate fav was Zoe in her Givenchy Haute Couture gown that walked the runway just days ago, STUNNING. Who was your fav?
Emma Stone in Alexander McQueen & Lea Michele in Versace.
Viola Davis in Marchesa & Jessica Chastain in Calvin Klein.
Emily Blunt in Oscar De La Renta & Zoe Saldana in Givenchy Haute Couture FW 12.

Paul Smith Jeans Spring/Summer 2012
PS was one of my favorite SS 12 collections for several reasons but mainly the use of color and prints. How incredible is the ensemble above? It's totally a California look. I loved the gradient details in the collection and I how I'd love to get my hands on one of the shirts. Ohhhh or that purple anorak?!! Coachella inspiration? I think so...

H&M Men's Seasonal Favorites
Essentials are crucial for both men and women, so it's great H&M created the seasonal favorites for men to follow. A navy sport coat, white trousers/jeans, a sharp white shirt, and chinos are all classics that should be in every man's wardrobe. I personally have a pair of khaki chino's from H&M and I wear them almost everyday with boat shoes or with converse low tops (of course cuffed to expose a little European flair). Gosh, Will Chalker looks so yummy.

First Look: Marni for H&M
Marni's collaboration with H&M is quickly approaching, so it's not surprising photos are slowly being leaked. I really CANNOT wait for this collection, hopefully it's one I can finally shop. I'm definitely more excited for this collab than Versace, but H&M has been on a role with partnering with the best of the best so I can't really complain. It's also exciting that the Swedish retailer is supporting young aspiring designers with their Design Award. The winner of the DA wins 50,000 Euros and have an opportunity at Stockholm's Fashion Week. Judges include one my favorite fashion journalist's Hilary Alexander, Christopher Kane, Susie Lau, Kristopher Arden Houser, head of design for H&M, Ann-Sofie Johansson, and creative advisor H&M, Margareta van den Bosch. Check out the video below!

The Fashion Fund: Making The Cut
Growing up I've always been a dreamer and through my years in school, I have grown an intense passion for fashion (obvi!!). As cliche as that may sound, I think it's important to have goals and dreams to not only inspire you, but to drive you towards a happier mental state and life. Fashion to me is more than labels and trends, it's a business so I was BEYOND thrilled when I heard that the CFDA would be filming mini series of their top 10 finalists which include my personal favs: Altuzarra, Suno, Fenton-Fallon, and Cushnie et Ochs. Getting to see some of their reactions after hearing they've made the cut, is really inspiring to me, because I, like ALL of them, work hard to make a name for ourselves. Though I'm currently a no body in this overly exhausting and competitive industry, I find myself my biggest challenge and I'm beyond excited to see what life as in store as I try to make myself known. Isn't that everyone's dream? For now all I can do is continue to work my way up and be inspired...and these videos definitely help. I hope they all inspire you as well! =)

Christina Ricci for Oyster Magazine
I LOVE this chick, she's obviously a girl crush for how many times I've blogged about her. I'm a huge Christina Ricci fan and ABC's Pan Am is one of my biggest guilty pleasures (crossing my fingers they don't cancel the show!). The actress covers and stars in Oyster Magazine's latest issue with looks from Jil Sander, Proezna Schouler, Burberry Prorsum, and more, which were all styled by the wonderful Stevie Dance. She looks dynamite in this 60's inspired shoot. Love it all. Do you like?

Burberry Prorsum Mens FW 12: A Closer Look
Burberry Prorsum FW 12 was one of my favorite collections and to get a close up look of the collection via DS is great. You can only see so much from viewing the collection on a laptop, but getting to see the clothing and accessories up close really makes you appreciate the quality and love of anything luxurious. Haute Couture Spring 2012 Favs PT 1
Giambattista Valli // Tis the haute couture season and from what I've been seeing, it's been pretty much a bore from Dior to Armani Prive. When I think of Haute Couture, I think about the incredible work done by incredibly talented ateliers, theatrical beauty, show stoppers, and I definitely saw that in Giambattista Valli's haute couture show. With a mix of hard and soft elements, the sophomore haute couture collection showcased feminine frocks with touches of croc, lace, flowers, and sequins. The collections color scheme of plum, fuchsia, ivory, and black were absolutely stunning. Surely we'll be seeing a lot of the dresses from this particular collection on the red carpet. How amazeballs are the golden rose neck pieces?! View the full collection here.
Givenchy // Riccardo Tisci took a darker approach than his spring 2012 haute couture collection for the label, but the results are equally as stunning. The extraordinary gowns were much more harder and tougher than his previous collection with looks made of croc, leather, beaded embellishments, oversized septum rings and earrings. I'm starting to feel like I will NEVER not like a collection by Riccardo Tisci, he's just unstoppable. But wth is Maria Clara Boscono? View the full collection here.
Elie Saab // Romance and femininity were on Elie Saab's mind for the label's spring 2012 haute couture collection showcased in Paris earlier this week. This collection most definitely had a number of red carpet worthy gowns whether short or floor length, sleeveless, short sleeve, or long sleeve. A contendor for celebs of all ages for sure. It's pastel hued color scheme of pinks, sea foams, blues, and whites were absolutely stunning. I particularly love the ensemble on Jacquelyn Jablonski. View the full collection here.
